Is it your first time meeting your partners’ parents? Are you going to a Friendsgiving? Spending time with the in-laws? No matter where you’re celebrating Thanksgiving Day or what you’re bringing to the table, we all face the same conundrum: what to wear?
I’m not sure how it may be in your family or friend group, but for many women it’s a subtle internal standard of: what is everyone else going to be wearing? Will I be too overdressed if I wear this? Or underdressed if I wear that? Like many, we can be torn on whether we would rather be comfy and throw on some leggings and a plush sweater or put on one of our best dresses that highlights ALL of our curves in the best way since the holidays do give us a little extra time to shine (both figuratively and literally thanks to the copious opportunities to dawn metallics, lurex, sequins, etc.).
Many of us also have so much on our hands during this time of year in general that it can feel like an extra challenge to look as great as we would like to with family, friends kids, and even pets running around: who has the time to even think too much now? Luckily, we are here to help with some easy ways of looking chic on Thanksgiving Day! For all of your potential situations this holiday, here are 4 quick last minute tips to help you get ready before all the wonderful, cranberry-scented madness begins:
- A jewel tone or printed oversized sweater with leggings and booties can make a quick, comfortable look feel 3 times more chic with 3 times less work.
- The wrap dress is the master of fast and simple throw-on pieces to create an outfit that can easily be dressed up or down with minimal effort and maximum comfort.

- A duster cardigan, dark skinny jeans, and a faux or true front-tucked top can easily compliment every body type and create a put-together yet still casual ensemble.
- For a dressier affair, try layering a fun skirt ( like the one you have in your closet that you love but can never figure how to wear) over leggings, pair that with a neutral or patterned fitted turtleneck, and top it off with bold/bright heels heels for a pop of color!
